It's been shown that modern immersive experiences like Virtual Reality (VR) and outdoor and indoor immersive experiences improve cognitive and physical skills in special needs populations. Also, special needs students are less likely to participate in social, recreational, and hobby activities that all of us need to have a quality and self-supporting life. We are now identifying specific benefits of these environments to special needs students. Youc can help us by discussing your child's experience at our highly immersive events!
Dr. Sullivan and Carrie Sullivanrecently taught in the technology department at Weatherford College. Both of us have a background in computer development, and based on your feedback and existing data, we'll be designing and developing new VR apps that will provide benefits and assistive technology for specific special needs students. We've found that there are very few apps and systems with features adapted to special needs persons.
